Mario Bueno graduated from the Mike Ilitch School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, thereafter, from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a master’s in criminal justice administration. After his public service with both the House of Representatives and the City of Detroit Mayor’s Office, Mario co-founded a nonprofit that provided mentoring services to the Detroit Metropolitan Region for at-risk youth and Returning Citizens. Mario worked for a local accounting firm until starting his own firm, American Dream Accounting & Taxes, becoming a contractor for Invest Detroit and Michigan Women Forward, servicing small business owners as it relates to financial accounting reporting and tax preparation and filing. In 2023, he accepted an offer by Cendrowski Corporate Advisors as a Staff Accountant, now a division of Prosperity Partners. Mario strives to support his team by preparing complex tax returns for corporations, trusts, and partnerships.  In his spare time, Mario is a special correspondent for PBS Detroit, an author, a mentor of at-risk youth and returning citizens, and is completing his master’s degree in accounting from Walsh School of Business.

  • What would your last meal be? My last meal would be the Last Supper (the Eucharist).
  • What is your passion? My passion is mentoring in the form of motivational training
  • What board game would you be? If I were a board game, then I would be the game of chess.
