She conducts comprehensive financial analyses, including discounted cash flow (DCF) models, market comparisons, and asset-based valuations. Additionally, Laura manages forensic investigations, ensuring accurate valuations of businesses, retirement accounts, investments, and other financial assets that need to be divided in the divorce process or for other litigation purposes. She also performs lifestyle analyses and income assessments to ensure fair alimony calculations.
- Favorite thing about my job: Some of my work involves divorce litigations. Because divorce is a life-altering event, having the opportunity to provide clients meaningful support with financial data to facilitate fair agreements between both parties gives me a sense of fulfillment.
- Favorite vacation you’ve taken: Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. I went on a catamaran sail to the “Stingray City” where I was able to swim with stingrays in their natural habitat! Those majestic sea creatures were about 5 feet wide and 150 pounds each, and I was awestruck by how friendly they were when I was trying to gently lift them with my arms so we could float together in the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea.
- Favorite way to celebrate your Birthday: Travel to a new place and eat the best local cuisine.
- Favorite concert you’ve attended: An Italian Opera Night performed by The Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia Festival featuring my favorite soprano, Nadine Sierra.
- What would your last meal be? My last meal would be at The Marble Room in Cleveland – petite filet mignon cooked medium rare with a side of béarnaise sauce, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach. Oh, and I’ll have their cotton candy for dessert!
- Favorite workout or sport to play? I play tennis and am a second-degree black belt in taekwondo! I also enjoy long beach walks on the water’s edge and walking around new cities when I am on vacation.
