Joshua Prince is a Tax Partner at Prosperity Partners. He is an experienced advisor providing sophisticated tax consulting and compliance services to mid-sized businesses, their owners, and high-net-worth individuals. Josh joined Prosperity Partners in January 2024 after spending six years at a large local firm, where he was promoted to Partner in 2023. He previously worked at RSM and PwC, working in their respective Private Client Service groups.

With more than 13 years of experience, Josh helps clients formulate tax planning strategies for their personal and business needs. He helps clients stay current on tax developments and trends, optimizes tax strategies, and minimizes tax liabilities. Josh is a well-rounded tax professional who advises on a variety of tax issues, including entity selection, partnership and S-corporation taxation, tax planning and projections, foreign reporting, state and local considerations, government tax audits, and federal tax credits. He also has wide industry experience having advised clients in real estate, professional and consulting services, and family offices.

Josh focuses on understanding his clients’ unique needs and challenges. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, he tailors a solution to fit the client’s specific circumstances.

Josh is actively involved in the Illinois CPA Society and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his family, and actively participating in his community.

EXPERTISE: Partnership and S-corporation taxation, closely held businesses and owners, high-net-worth individuals

  • Favorite thing about Prosperity Partners: As cliche as it sounds, the culture and its people. It’s a young and motivated group aiming to build a leading accounting firm.
  • What is your side gig/passion project/hobby? This has definitely evolved over the years – traveling, participating in various sports (biking, tennis, basketball, golf), fantasy sports, and maintaining a coral reef aquarium. I’ve also had a passion in entrepreneurial businesses and investment opportunities. Currently, it’s about getting our kids to their weekly lessons and activities.
  • If you were a board game, what game would you be? My favorite board game is Risk, an all-time classic that requires planning, weighing risks, and anticipating opponents’ moves. I enjoy the strategic thinking and measured approach to risk and reward, and constantly adapting to the changing landscape.
  • Favorite way to celebrate your birthday: With friends and family, enjoying good food and drinks
  • Favorite concert you’ve attended: House/electronic music concerts in the early 2010’s!
  • Favorite workout or sport to play? Either golf or basketball. Pickleball is fun too.
