Deyan is a Tax Partner at Prosperity Partners who advises closely held businesses, family investment partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals on tax compliance, consulting, and strategic tax planning.

With a broad technical foundation across individual and business tax, Deyan often serves as the conductor of each client’s overall tax strategy – connecting business, personal, multistate, and international considerations and coordinating with specialists when deeper expertise is needed. His approach is practical and proactive: identify issues early, translate technical rules into clear guidance, and help clients make informed decisions before tax consequences become surprises.

Deyan works with businesses across a range of industries, including information technology, professional and business consulting, and electronics manufacturing, as well as large family investment partnerships. He helps owners and leadership teams navigate complex tax matters, evaluate planning opportunities, and coordinate entity-level and individual tax considerations. He also works closely with affluent individuals and families to manage tax exposure, preserve wealth, and align tax planning with their broader personal, business, and family goals.

With a particular interest in international taxation, Deyan has notable experience advising U.S. expatriates and foreign nationals on cross-border tax compliance and planning. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society’s Taxation International Committee.

Deyan joined Prosperity Partners as a Tax Associate in 2014 and has built his career with the firm, advancing to Partner. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from DePaul University.

Outside the office, Deyan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling whenever the calendar allows, and getting lost in a good work of fiction.
